We have worked on multiple scenarios where we use our global presence to customers’ advantage.
Type 1: Rough manufacturing in China and precision final touch in USA.
Example:
CNC Machining: We forge metal to near final shape and even do some pre-machining in China, then do final machining in USA according to drawing tolerance. This minimizes material waste, lowers tariff, allows us to build “material” inventory in California, meets customer’s mandate of “Made in USA”, and do so at 1/3 the cost.
Tube and Plate Fabrication: We can cut and bend in China and do the final welding and assembly in USA. American Welders do a better job especially when it comes to thicker steel.
Type 2: Volume production in China and Add-on Fast Response/ Customize Production in USA. We have done so successfully for door/ window industry.
Type 3: Make tooling and mold in China, and final production is USA. Like bend tool, stamping die, plastic mold.
Type 4: For high volume customers, we have built and tested entire production line in China, then transfer to USA. The key here is 99% automation to minimize labor cost. We have done so for chair production line (aluminum pipe bending and more) and a CNC machining parts (had to be done in USA for aerospace material traceability requirements).
Type 5: The bulky items, make parts in China and final assembly in USA to save shipping cost.
