COLD DRAW SPECIAL SHAPED STEEL PROFILES (Steel Bar with Unique Cross Section Shape)
Our expertise in cold drawing allows us to create precision-engineered metal profiles with intricate geometries and superior mechanical properties. Explore our gallery of cross-sectional shapes, watch our process video, and discover how our custom solutions can enhance your projects.
Cold-drawn profiles are custom metal profiles produced through a cold drawing process. To achieve the actual size and desired shape, cold drawn steel has to be drawn through different dies multiple times (See video below).
Unlike hot forming, cold drawing is performed at room temperature or slightly above, resulting in highly precise and smooth profiles. This method allows us to achieve complex cross-sectional shapes with tight tolerances and improved mechanical properties.
Our Capabilities
-
1.Precision and Accuracy
Our cold drawing process ensures profiles with exact dimensions and tight tolerances, meeting the most demanding specifications and consistency requirements. This helps reduce machining cost and material losses.
-
2.Superior Surface Finish
Cold drawing results in a smoother surface finish compared to hot forming, reducing the need for additional finishing processes and enhancing the visual appeal of the final product.
-
3.Enhanced Mechanical Properties
Because of the pressure required to force the steel to fit through the die, the process of cold drawing improves the tensile strength, yield strength, and hardness of the material through work hardening, making our profiles robust and durable. Reduces the need for hardening.
-
4.Complex Shapes
We specialize in creating intricate and non-standard geometries, including T-sections, U-sections, I-beams, and other custom profiles tailored to your specific needs.
Because of the pressure required to force the steel to fit through the die, cold drawn steel has high-tensile strength and increased yield.
Also, this process improves dimensional tolerances and enhances the physical properties of the hex steel bar.

Our Process
1.Preparation
We start with a hot-rolled billet or rod, which is cleaned and sometimes coated with a lubricant to reduce friction during the drawing process.
2.Drawing
The prepared material is pulled through a series of dies, each progressively reducing the cross-sectional area and shaping the material into the desired profile. Multiple passes through different dies may be required to achieve complex shapes and precise dimensions.
3.Annealing (Optional)
Depending on the material and application, the profile may undergo annealing to relieve stresses and improve ductility.
4.Finishing
Additional processes such as cutting, straightening, and surface treatment are applied to achieve the final specifications and appearance.
We also provide roll forming steel profiles of uniform thickness.
